The Career Pathways Program is now closed. Please check back in Fall 2026 to submit applications for activities taking place between October 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. During a open cycle, applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis and awarded on a rolling basis until funding has been expended.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for these grants to support opportunities including, but not limited to:
- Attending or presenting at scientific conferences
- Visits to graduate school programs
- Group visits to job shadow at a company
- Other career and professional events
Selected students are eligible to receive up to $1,200 throughout their time at UCSB.
To receive priority consideration, please submit your application at least 4 weeks prior to the event.
Program Details

All currently enrolled full time UCSB undergraduates in science, engineering, or mathematics majors

Must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents
Priority will be given to students who are Federal Pell Grant eligible.
Selection Criteria:

Potential for substantive professional development and/or career learning

Impact of the award to finance and enable engagement in the opportunity
Priority will be given to applicants who have not received a prior award.

Sharing about your experience with your peers is a vital component of the Career Pathways Program. You will be required to complete a Post-Experience Packet comprised of:
- Images/pictures from your experience
- Short summary review of your experience
- Quote/s
The images/pictures and quotes may be posted on CSEP social media, website, as well as archived for future viewing, with your consent.
